What is Tallow?

Beef tallow is made by slowly melting beef suet, the fat from around cattle's kidneys and loins, until it liquifies. Rich in vitamins A, D, E, K, it deeply moisturizes, restores the skin barrier, and may reduce inflammation. This traditional fat, which has been used for centuries in both culinary and medicinal contexts, is experiencing a revival in the skincare world due to its natural, nutrient-dense properties.

What makes beef tallow exceptional for skincare is its composition, which closely mimics human sebum. This similarity allows tallow to be readily absorbed by the skin, providing profound hydration without the greasy feel often associated with other fats. It's packed with essential vitamins that support skin health: Vitamin A promotes cell turnover, Vitamin D aids in skin cell growth and repair, Vitamin E serves as an antioxidant to protect against environmental damage, and Vitamin K helps in reducing dark circles and bruising. Moreover, tallow contains natural antimicrobial properties, which can be beneficial for acne-prone skin, helping to fight bacteria without stripping the skin of its natural oils.
